A survey by new online bingo site iBingo has uncovered a potentially worrying trend for Britain’s businesses; £800m is lost each year due to employees playing games on their iPhone when they are at work.

iBingo, which launched this week with an exciting £15 free offer, carried out the survey ahead of the launch of their website and mobile bingo game. Other interesting facts that came out of their analysis included 28% who said they play games on their iPhone while on the loo!

Apparently only 11% of the 200 people surveyed were aware that you could play bingo on an iPhone. I’m sure the site will be hoping this will soon change, as their mobile game is one of their key components. A further stat in the survey suggested as many as 63% consider themselves “likely” to be playing bingo on their iPhone in the next 12 months. Staggering!

Ben Crawford, a spokeman for iBingo, had this to say:

“Through sites such as iBingo.co.uk, players can now enjoy the game while commuting to and from work, in the pub or even at the Supermarket checkout. This freedom comes thanks to significant development within mobile technology which now allows us to access the Internet far more freely and securely when on the move.”
